Small plates give the impression of eating a “Whole plate” and this is one of the signals that the brain should reduce appetite and stop eating.
Put some food in the dishes. Sometimes we overeat because the brain tells us “meal should be over”. In fact, eating less is enough.
Eat slowly and chew your food thoroughly. First, it becomes easier for satiated signals to reach the brain.
Second, thorough chewing helps in better absorption of nutrients from food.
